Mandy has a keen interest in economic development and has worked with EDAs, local and central government in this area.

During Mandy’s MBA at Massey University she co-wrote a Special Paper which investigated whether there is a mismatch between the business education provided by NZ universities and what NZ businesses actually need in order to achieve economic growth for NZ Inc. The findings of the research have been presented to the Ministry of Education Policy Team and the Tertiary Education Commission for further consideration and discussion.

Other qualifications include a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from Waikato University, Graduate Diploma in Business Management (Health I&II) from Auckland University and a National Certificate in Farm Management from Hadlow College of Agriculture in the UK.

Mandy is an active member of the Institute of Directors and the Chamber of Commerce. She has held diverse governance roles in business, not-for-profit and community sectors, many being in male dominated sectors. She has been the ‘first woman’ in a business and governance situation on more than one occasion and has found that bringing a different perspective to a forum is refreshing and enlightening. Mandy firmly believes that a wide range of Board member experience and diversity is vital to good governance.

Mandy has 3 adult children, cherishes time with family and friends and enjoys travel. She keeps fit by jogging, tramping, yoga, swimming, sailing, going to the gym and, most of all, enjoys cross-country mud runs.

She is looking forward to utilizing her skills and experience in making a difference to your business.
